Wheel Studs...

Hi Rebecca:
I recently did the same to my 4000 rally rig.
The only place I found actual studs was from OMP. I bought them from
Bildon Motorsports:
1 66mm Racing Studs, M14x1.5 OMP 8 Pack 2512-OM/1516/8 $44.95
66mm is a bit long.
The other solution is to buy Hex Cap M14x1.5x90 10.9 (Grade 8) @ $4.00ea
and cut them. If you go this route, put the lug nut on before you cut
it. When you take the lug off, it will clean the threads as its coming
off.
All the Audi speedlines I've got for rally are the acorn seat types. But
its very important not to mix 'V' shaped and acorn shaped seats...

Subject: Wheel Studs...
Hey,
I have never posted here, but it seems like a good place to try.
I have a 1988 Audi 90 quattro. I turned it into a rally car and its
really fun, BUT when it comes time to change a thrashed tire on stage I
want to leave the thing on the side of the road.
So, all I need to do is change from the wheel bolts it has now to studs.
Seems easy enough, but I wanted to know where and how to get good wheel
studs for this car. Who has done something like this or knows where I
can get good wheel studs and nuts?
I'm running the original wheels, the BBS basket weave looking ones.
I think I want 14x1.5 X 50mm, but I'm not sure about the taper on the
nuts and since I've never done this I wanted to ask...
Thanks for any info/advice,
Rebecca
