That data, while very good, only shows frequency of accident reports
against it, though. Not necessarily how badly someone was injured. I
would guess the SRT-4's have a few more accidents due to the drivers
they attract, as well as their ability to get into very high speed
situations very quickly. Buicks, or the Avalon right below, however,
tend to be driven by more conservative drivers. That's one thing to
take into account in this data, is who drives the given cars. Small
cars *tend* to be driven by younger drivers, while larger cars tend to
be driven by older drivers. It's not always the case, though.

This isn't to say that I think an SRT-4 is a safe
car.................I've driven one, and I WON"T make that claim!

If you watch the crash tests on consumer reports for the current cars,
you can see that there are a few larger cars that aten't nearly as
safe as some smaller ones. But, as stated, a large car (or truck) -vs-
a small one, the larger vehicle has the mass acceleration advantage.

This just comes down to personal choice. I have a 6200 lb 1-ton van,
and a 1900 lb Diesel Jetta. On a daily basis, I chose the Jetta, and
take my chances ;-)

Oh, and I have an Audi or two :)
