I have to keep replacing the exhaust suspension rubber donuts every year or
more often.
It seems the replacement parts are made of rubber that cant take the beating
or the ozone.
I have to 'safety wire' the damn exhaust as a precaution to prevent the
system falling out of the car by accident.
Anybody know of a better way or parts for replacing the donuts? I was
thinking of using a material like they use at exhaust shops for hanging
exhaust systems. This hanger is composed of a flat stock of rubber, the kind
with fabric between the layers . . kinda looks like a tire sidewall.
Mechanical fittings are riveted to each end of the rubber strip. I was
thinking of making a donut out of this type of material.
I know VW makes a donut with a chain imbedded inside the rubber. But this
donut wont twist, and getting it onto the hangers is almost impossible.

Received my fender bender check for $1800 today.
