Exhaust system suspension donuts keep breaking

I am sure Ado will answer your question better than me,
but...
When you'll install newer mounts, the engine will sit
higher... but that's not the cheap way top tell if they are
worn !
What you can do is lift the engine a bit, using a pry bar or
something like that and see if one of them is separated.
Usually, the center stud will detach itself from the rubber
part. Both are stretched vertically either when accelerating
or engine-braking so both can be destroyed. The engine
should not move upwards more than 1/2 inch if they are good.
The front engine mounts are around 100$ here in Montreal,
but the transmission mounts are only 15$ each.

How do you test/examine the suspension (engine?) mounts to
see if they are
good/defective?
