On my '84 4KQ (may it rest in pieces) I ran many different sets of wheels
with radically different offsets.

***Stock 14x6" with 38mm offset were [obviously] fine.

***I replaced the OE wheels with 14x6" Porsche 924 wheels with an
18mm offset and they worked fine with either 186/60-14 or 195/55-14 tires.
Sorry, no pictures...

***For rallycrossing I used 15x6" Riken alloys with ~30mm offset and
205/50-R15 tires.

***For ice racing I used 14x5.5" steel wheels with ~25mm offset from
a 1982 Ford Mustang with P175-R14 snow tires. (That means the actual profile
was a 78-series tire!)
Sorry, no pictures...

***For hillclimb racing I used 15x6" 1991 SAAB 9000 alloys that had
~30mm of offset with 215/50-R15 tires.

The car was lowered ~1.5" with Eibach springs and I rarely had any rubbing
problems. It only happened with the Porsche wheels if I had (4) people in
the car and hit a really big bump.

Yah, that's what my 90Q does with 15 x 7 et 38 instead of 14 x 6 et 45
on it.

Pulls slightly away from crowns on roads, a bit twitchy. But a nice
kinda twitchy, mostly, since I'm never anywhere near 9/10ths of anything.
