I dunno, maybe I'm used to somewhat quicker cars, but I'd bet my '84 4000Q
could take the 100 or an A6 (driven them too) up to about 60 or 70. And I
don't think anyone on this list would consider a 4KQ remotely "quick". And
FWIW, my 4KQ barely took a 1st gen Taurus at a toll booth quite a few years
back, which implies that a "full sized" Taurus would've taken the C4 2.8 12V
at less than half the price. Not a pretty picture IMHO. That being said, the
2.8 C4's are still much nicer cars than said Taurus, and they're still
rather nice cars as better than average transport, particularly Avants.
Wouldn't say the same for the Taurus.
