Another problem on early V-6's (92-93), are engine oil leaks. Valley pan gasket and head gaskets. I have a very nice oil leak coming from the head gasket right now. Car has 172K miles. Should have tackled it before winter settled in. Will have to wait until spring now as my garage is unheated. Fuel pump quit at about 160Kmiles. Fuel economy is around 24 mpg on the highway in summer. High teens around town. Don't really want to know what it is in the winter. Otherwise, the engine is strong and reliable. If you drive the car hard (use the accelerator), performance isn't too, bad. Shift points with the automatic will be delayed or you can shift the automatic manually. When the car is driven gently, shift points occur very early in the rev range as the ECU "learns" the driving pattern and upshifts occur quickly to save fuel. This is an early "green" car as throughout the owners manual Audi talks about conserving resources. Hope this helps.
