[A4] tires, speaking of tires, anyone have any used 17's lay'n around?

Here's the scoop.  There's no magic - just 3 differentials and  
depending on the year, ABS. All of those like zero rotational  
differential, but can tolerate some, generally up to about 0.5% to  
1%.  Keep in mind that rotational differential exists whenever you turn.

The advice from audi is to replace in pairs.  But if one tire shows  
little wear, you can replace one.  It must be identical.

You can run different front and rear tires/brands/etc/ The usual  
impact on under/oversteer apply. the laws of physics have nto been  
repealed.
