Boost gauge install

Gentlemen,

Going to install a boost/vac gauge (2 1/8 autometer)and would like to use a
pillar pod and paint to somewhat match the gray...

1. Was thinking of "t'ing" off of ECU line before water trap, any reason not
too?

2. Anyone have a brand/model # of a pod that fit the pillar somewhat
reasonably? Flaps has some generic ones, but looks like the gauge face angle
won't be right. Could use the gauge cup but would like it to be a little
more subtle. (Yep, no bling!)
