I'd start with the intake air boot. Make sure it isn't torn, and is
connected on the ends. Also, look at the bottom, where the fitting comes
out. It's right in front of the battery. When checking the boot, pull it a
bit and make sure there are no crackes on the pleats of rubber. They usually
hide a bit till you step on it. The torque of the engine seperates them
then. One thing I do whenever getting an older car such as this is replace
all of the vacuum lines. It costs about $10, and saves a lot of little
headaches in the future.
