Kat - pls clarify - you said it would nto shift into a higher gear.
I assumed that meant it was driving and would nto shift, say from 3rd 
to 4th.

Ado makes a good point- the ignition switch is connected to the 
park-reverse lockout.

You have to disconnect it and re-connect it to do the switch in fact.
