Ladies and Gentlemen: With heavy heart I must put up my white 87
4000CS Quattro due to the fact I don't have the time to finish the project.
It's white, with the black cloth Quattro logo seats(rest of interior
in very good condition), has 109k on the odo(but obviously more miles
on it than that), I have fixed the odo and the speedo works fine.
Stock sound system.
Motor and tranny were very good when it was put on jackstands 18
months ago, rear diff has new seals, engine compression was good, but
the big need is to finish the suspension overhaul. I have new strut
cartridges all around and 8 new CV boot kits. Engine, tranny and dif
are in need of fluid refills.
The body is in pretty good condition, with some minor rust issues,
but most have been PORed already. Only a few minor dings in the
bodywork, all the glass is good, sunroof works, as do all 4 power
window regulators(fr. pass. is a little slow). Have two sets of rims
and tires(the white set has decent rubber and nitrogen and the other
needs snows put on it). I have a fair amount of new parts and some
used spares that go with it and new rear ebrake cables. I have the
factory owners manual, some repair receipts from previous owner,
and the big red Bentley that goes with it too.
Other than the suspension/ halfshaft rebuild needs, the car needs the
following: Battery, radiator, alternator, engine mounts, and likely
a timing belt kit as a PM. The engine has the usual oil leaks around
the oil temp sender and the AC didn't work when I got it. Driveshaft
was very smooth.
This car is way too good to junk, I have a clear title to it, and
need to get $700 out of it. It resides in my garage in Cedar Falls
Iowa. It will have to be trailered and some creative loading
techniques will have to be employed to get it on the trailer. I'm
willing to help in any way I can. If you can, give this car a second
chance. Pmail me if you want some photos. I bought it wanting to
make it a winter car for our family.
Thanks,
DM&FS
