Also, how about a BMW 3 or 5-series AWD wagon. I don't know much about the
AWD system, though.

BTW, I'd go with the summer rubber, then buy the snows. I know it's a pain,
but in the end, the tires are ultimately what grip the road. No electronics
or AWD can make up for lack of tire traction.
