***** Try Surgical Supply stores. Almost every town has one. They sell
wheelchairs, crutches, canes, colostomy bags, etc etc etc.
They will not sell you the standard luer lock syringes. Law was changed
about 7 years ago to prevent sales of such items without a prescription.
However, you can buy "irrigation" syringes which have a built in plastic
tapered cone needle.
These come in several sizes.
Cost is about $1 each for the 250 ml sizes.

Second source for syringes is a Feed Store for animals - not a pet store.
This place sells items for small farmers, etc. Which includes medicines and
syringes for self medication of animals.
I used to buy syringes and needles there. I dont know if the law changes
affected the feed stores.

Third source for syringes is a supply house that handles items for the
electronic soldering industry.
They have paste solder for Surface Mount Technology. The paste comes in
syringes with a luer lock - exactly like surgical syringes. The needles come
in various sizes and all have a blunt tip.
These supply places should also have the empty syringes and needles for self
loading of solder paste.
Try contacting Kester Solder and/or Alpha Wire or Alpha Solder. They should
be able to point you in the right direction.

You can also try a nurse, I have been down that route before. My nurse
friends used to supply me with used hemostats - ones that lost their spring
action or alignment. They used to throw them out. They are no longer good
for surgical work, but they are perfect for electronics work.
But remember that the needle laws also most likey affect the medical
profession.
She would be risking her career when doing you such a favor.
