20V Intercooler strapping

Excellent point Ben.... Only had the 20V since May.... Only had the chips
since August.... (yours, which still aren't in!) Seeing as how it has a
bypass valve, and it actually functions the strap isn't needed... Duh! Will
take it back off next time the grill is removed....
Just a Tad slow getting out of the 10V frame of mind!!!
Thanks, Eric

Why would you do this when the system has (or should have) a bypass
valve - this effectively eliminates any need for strapping/reinforcing, and
should be retrofitted to the 10Valve engines as well. I no longer recommend
strapping but instead a bypass valve which has multiple benefits.

Gentlemen,
In the process of getting the 20V back together after the valve seals. Had
some hose clamps from a flowmaster heat shield which work length wise
(around IC). Unlike the 10V's the left side of the IC is angled. There's a
small protrusion which I've tightened the clamp against, but how have
others
dealt with this? Think it will hold, but thought I'd ask....
Last thing to fix before the chip install was the valve seals, so seeing
as
how the IC is already out figured now was a good a time as any to strap!!!
(Besides, finally got the trim clips for the front chrome, don't want to
take the grill back out)
