Hmmm, I seem to recall the '87 5k I once parted out had alloy I-beam 
things inside the doors.  Even the lowly coupe has metal pipes running 
fore and aft in the door.  I found that out because a door I put on my 
car was rattling, the pipe was not bolted in place at one end...!
