david....i hope your not serious..    laquer thinner will remove paint..   
guaranteed.
  mineral spirits wont remove the paint.. 
 if you have a parts car, take a rag soaked in laquer thinner and rub it on 
the paint.. you will see the paint starting to come off..

laquer thinner is a definate no-no
