Like I said, it involves some real work. But, the main elements are
present in a sedan seat. The big posts that the coupe "hooks" latchon
to are there, and the basic hinging mechanism is there. But, instead of
hooks, there are metal pieces with holes in them bolted in place locking
the posts in place. Any metal bits to guide the release cables, are, I
believe, also in place in a sedan seat.

So the conversion, you need to swap hooks on in place of the locking
plates, which is probably not rocket science. Then you will want to do
something to make it so both of them (on each seat) can be released
easily. If you peel off the seat covering material, you should be able
to swap in a set of cables from scrap coupe seats, and install the
release lever in the outer edge of of the seatback bolster.

I'd say it's worth doing if you have a pair of sedan seats that are
*really* what you want - since finding coupe seats like you want will be
a real pain.

Forgive me for any blurriness of memory, it has been a *long* time since
I meddled around with the underside of type 85 seats.

> just was hoping there was an easy way to make 4k sedan seats fit a CGT...

You can just install them and live without the tilt forward feature, of
course. I did with some platinum (grey) sedan seats in my coupe, a nice
upgrade from the worn out cloth ones I had, but not a color I liked at
all. people could still get in the back, it just required climbing over
or squeezing behind the front seats. Remember, the sedan seats can
still be cranked forward a fair amount with the adjuster knob, it just
isn't convenient like with the release latch.

You could *also* swap your desired seat covering from a sedan, if you
found it, onto the frame of a coupe seat.

> ps, as most of you can tell by now.., im a new CGT owner..

Congratulations, I didn't know they still "made" them! Haven't seen one
in years that I didn't own...
