It won't.  (Cruise gets its electronic speed signal from back of speedo)

I got a one piece cable for under $50, but it was many years ago. 
Unfortunately, I didn't write down the number...

I doubt a Quantum cable would work since it is probably bayonet style 
like the 85-on cars.

Things to pay attention to:  On his car (if it is a US Machine) there 
are 2 speedo cables - one from tranny to OXS counter box (triggers check 
light every 30k miles) under the plenum, and one from OXS box to speedo.

The OXS counter can get gummed up and be really hard on the tranny cable 
(btdt).  So, if and when he does get new or used cables to fix it, the 
OXS box should be opened up and cleaned/lubed (or gutted).  On my US 
coupe, I ditched the box and as I said above, managed to get a one piece 
cable to run from the tranny to speedo.

If the car is Euro (etc.) and does not have an OXS, it would have the 
one piece cable, of course.
