hubcentric adapter question

I was reading an interesting site the other day about nuts and bolts - 
it was very "rock crawler"-specific, but one thing the guy was saying 
was exactly that.  The fastener is there to create friction due to 
pressure betweent hemating surfaces.

A question I had, as well.  Though, I think I'd prefer a microscopic 
layer of anti-rust compound to a macroscopic layer of corrosion.

I don't see how that would affect it, really.  Unless, I suppose, the 
powder coating was done really badly and was uneven.

All bets are off if the car is not assembled correctly.
