well that's what i thought too - that the prutruding lip of the hub
[thanks for the correction Huw] held the sheer / vertical weight of
the car.
but a very good point was made that my hubcentering rings are PLASTIC
and it's highly unlikely that they hold any weight, otherwise they
would deform, im guessing. it makes sense that the ring is just there
to center the wheel on the hub, and the bolts / friction between
mating surfaces keep the car off the ground.
which makes me a little nervous about the wheel stud adapters i just
put in. SO MUCH EASIER to deal with, but they are lower grade than the
audi bolts. hmm.
