ABS Light On

My ABS light is on again.  I thought I had found the problem.  When the light comes on the rear diff also locks up.  Green light comes on in the console.  I have the 3 volume set of Haynes manuals and they are almost totally useless.  Parts diagrams but no trouble shooting.  I checked all electrical connections that I could find.  Under the rear seat and under the hood.  Tried removing a speed sensor but didn't want to break it.  What kind of measurement is required to test a speed sensor?  Car is 1993 wagon CSQ100.
