5cyl lifter tap

My Rally quattro was always noisey for the first half hour after an oil
change or after a few days of sitting. During the last event (550 miles)
they never got noisey once, nor did my mechanical vac pump. I make it part
of maintenance to pull the pump off the head and clean the sludge buildup
out of it and clean the drive rod periodically. It helps greatly..also flip
the rod every time you're in there. For oil I just run 10w30 and my motor
just purrred...no ticky ticky.
