Since all connecting pieces there are solid metal and adjuster drops in 
all the way, it could be that you have wrong shoes. Several dia where 
used on VAG models. Similar would be also the case if b/drum has worn 
more than thickness of the new shoes, which I doubt. Also make sure that 
return springs are hooked in the right place.
