If you got a bimmer, then there is no pearl white, so that would explain the
problem.

I guess you don't like Alpine White?

A cheaper way to convert an Alpine White car to pearl white, if the paint
guy is really, really good, would be to sand the paint down and spray a
pearl coat and redo the clearcoat. It's doable, but the results depend a lot
on the painter.

Full stripped to the body, glass out paintjob is probably going to be well
north of $5000, probably closer to $10,000.
