Yeah.  Basically the design is such that the wiring is less than  
ideal to the pump.  As the pump gets older/more tired, it draws more  
amps, which overheats the relay, which fails.  Corrosion at the fuel  
pump contacts is definitely an issue (especially in the rust belt).   
Us Urq owners have done the additional fuel pump relay under the seat  
(where  the Urq battery is), so that maximum voltage gets to the pump.

All of this doesn't mean your pump isn't on its way out, of course --  
it probably is.
