in
understanding what was going on and making sure Audi was going to
investigate ... not unreasonable to me. From what I read it does sound =
like
Audi is taking the report seriously. From my POV it sounds like things =
with
Audi have changed for the better in this regard ... I wonder if they are
required to investigate a report such as this on a 15 year old model?
Even though Audi was exonerated in the UI scandal, there certainly have =
been
UI situations which have been shown to have merit ... MickieB and ovloV =
if
memory serves ... I also remember that the hay Audi made from this =
scandal
in selling/licensing their transmission lock design to other marques ... =

Comedy time....
"I was NOT pressing on the gas pedal. I didnt want to shut off the =20
engine with the key until I was stopped as I feared losing steering. "
At anything over 5mph, you don't need power steering to maneuver a =20
car, within reason (you're not going to be making any J-turns.) The =20
infamous LT1Q was tracked sans hydraulic pump if I remember correctly...
If you turn off the ignition, the car isn't going to randomly pick a =20
direction to travel in all of the sudden. Get in breakdown lane, =20
turn off engine.
Why didn't he shift it into neutral?
"ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH, VERY INEFFECTIVE BRAKING WITH ENGINE TRYING =20
TO KEEP CAR GOING AT ABOUT 55
MPH, BUT I MANAGED TO PULL OVER AND SHUT CAR OFF."
As always, people exaggerate engine torque. You can't ride the =20
brakes- you have to firmly apply them and bring the car to a slow =20
speed and then turn off the engine. If you ride them, yeah, you're =20
going to cook the brake fluid and the pedal is going to drop to the =20
floor.
"RADICAL ENGINE ACCELERATION"
Bwahahahahaha. Maybe his 100S has that ultra-rare turbo/port/polish/=20
nitrous option package.
"I AM AN ENGINEER"
"I skydive and I have had two main chute malfunctions that required =20
cutaways. I have experience in handling emergencies and not =20
panicking. I was NOT pressing on the gas pedal"
Oh wait, false alarm, folks. He's not an idiot- he's a skydiving =20
engineer, which makes him an expert. We'd better run right out and =20
pull all the '92 100S's off the roads RIGHT NOW!
