If you're implying that was the cause of the accident (ie, amateur  
"doriftu")...Given that the car is cleaved in half, I would guess the  
cables snapped/detached, and the handle popped up during the  
continuing chaos :-)

Let's hope there were no passengers- or if there were, that they were  
*extremely* lucky.
