anyone ever sawzalled the roof off your CGT?

I meant to also mention a car I met years ago - a Volvo 1800 coupe that 
had its roof cut off, owned by my old boss.  It had a roll bar 
installed, with a brace running forward to under the dashboard, and as 
far as I recall, it still had flexibility issues.  I suppose the 
relative success/safety depends on the platform, that is, how well the 
lower frame holds the car together on its own.

One "solution" is to abandon the doors, welding them shut, and perhaps 
cutting them lower.  To get in and out you hop over them, and they would 
contribute well to the strength of the body.

Then at the end of the summer you can sell it on eBay for $1!
