OK been a while since I have been on here as I was limited to just my
Coupe and didn't have the time to read all the lists... but I now have a
new Addition to the Audi family..   I got a good deal on a 2001 A6q
recently.. 1 owner lease return vehicle..  pretty detailed maintenance
records through 70k. So anyway I have a couple questions for some of A6
owners out there..

 

First of all Today while coming into work...   The from passenger window
decided it was going to just go down...  don't think it was by motor
either.. because not the motor does not run the window up or down (In
fact I don't hear it even running) It had to also  be raining like crazy
today...  I managed to get a temporary fix on my way to work by removing
the door panel and popping a small bolt I had in with my tools through a
hole in the track of the regulator.. but the window is not all the way
up but enough to keep the moderate rains out...  real heavy windy rain
still drips in.. Thank goodness for banks that are out of business and I
can use their drive thru as a makeshift shop..     Is this a motor or
regulator issue..    I understand this comes out as a unit  (the window,
mirror, motor and regulator) It seems like the window just slides up and
down freely.

 

Second.. I noticed over the weekend my rear driver side door lock no
longer functions with the power locks.. are these now electric or are
they pneumatic still?

 

Are there any other issues I need to be looking at... just wan to keep
up on this car as well as the other and I am not as familiar with the A6
