I'm still screwing around with my leaking hydraulic system.

I cant get the Hyd Hose banjo bolt off the bomb. Damn thing is rusted to a
smaller size.
I cant get the brake line off either . .thats rusted to hell also . .on both
ends.

I'll have to cut off the brake line, then remove the bomb with Hydraulic
hose attached. Once on the bench, removal should be no problem.

I took pix of a spare hydraulic hose that I picked up at a junkyard some
years ago.
Pictures are at > http://www.geocities.com/syljay48/HydHose.html

I have some questions regarding the hose rebuild.
1. Posts by others who rebuild this hose state that sometimes the rebuilder
leaves out the damper inside the hose. The hose assembly can be taken apart
as shown in the pictures. Why send the rebuilder the whole thing when only
the flexible part needs to be worked on?
2. The hose "crimps" are strange looking. They dont even look like crimps.
It doesnt look like they can be salvaged. What do the hose rebuilders do?

Questions regarding the attached brake line.
I had to replace a rusted brake line about 2 years ago. This replaced line
is more rusted up than the original lines(1990) in the car! Aftermarket
brake tubing must be made of the same steel as Midas/Meineke exhaust pipes.
"Muffler guaranteed for life" . .yeah, but the pipe rusts to holes in 6
months!

I did some research into corrosion resistant brakelines and found this site:
http://www.fedhillusa.com/
They import the "Cunifer" brake line, which is 90/10 copper nickel tubing.
It's my understanding that this tubing has been used for new car brake lines
since the early 90's.

I'm not sure what material their brake nuts are made from. No sense putting
in corrosion resistant tubing only to have the nuts rust to crap in 6
months. I wrote fedhillusa an inquiry about that, but havent gotten a reply
yet. Ooops, mail came in . .got a reply . .nuts are zinc plated steel - 10mm
x 1.0 male x 17mm lgth.

Any BTDT regarding this "Cunifer" copper/nickel tubing?
Its my understanding that 3/16" (4.76mm) tubing can be used in place of the
metric 4.75 mm tubing - - this size is what Audi uses, right?
Is it worth getting stainless steel nuts? Do they make brass or bronze nuts?
Anyone got sources?
