This rare find is superlight at 2200 lbs; benefiting from weight savings through the 2-door configuration and non-quattro drivetrain.  I intended to make this a dedicated track car but have too many other projects.  
The car is in great shape for its age and I have over $6000 in receipts including upgrades.  The chassis has 171K and the original 1.8 GTI engine of the era.  The wheels are OEM VW GTI snowflakes with Bridgestone Potenza RE950’s; Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks.
The front brakes have been upgraded to 4000 Quat calipers and ATE slotted rotors with stock pads (track pads come with the car)  All brake lines are custom stainless and the front sway bar upgraded to Coupe GT specs.  All tie-rod ends have been replaced and the front end is tight.
Headlights are fully relayed eurospec H4’s; with correct euro grill trim.  Exterior paint is in good shape and clear coat is intact; just needs a good wax job.  New tabs in December.
New clutch at 137K, Redline in transmission.  Absolutely no transmission issues whatsoever, shifts very smooth and all syncros operate great.  Full timing belt service at 143K including aggressive cam, new lifters, waterpump and hoses.  Tons of other items serviced including heater core, radiators, starter, sunroof etc.
The interior is blue (w/ blue sheepskins to protect seats).  Leather coupe GT steering wheel upgrade, A/C, cruise control, defrost rear window and mirrors all work.   The stereo is a high-end Alpine from the early 90’s with 6-disc in trunk and sony 4-channel amp.  Front speakers are MB Quart and Rears are Infinity.
Its reliable transportation in its current form; or you can use this as a base for a budget track-car.  More pics at your request.
