Hello Fans,
I have replaced the US headlamps from my 1990 A80Q with Euro specs last year
and totally forgot about them. They are in good used condition, packed and
ready for a new home. The corner units are not included. They are yours for
the cost of shipping.
Thanks!
Tony Ander, CO 80133.

Mine was doing that for a few years, so I put a new one in while
swapping the interior and installing a stereo system. Although I took
pictures, thre isn't a very good one of how the fan mounts. You can
"sort of" see where it goes at the top of the first picture here, about
2/3 of the way to the right:

The fan was under $100, I forget whether I got it through Atlantic
Imported or the dealer.
To swap it, you need to pull the dash back a bit (I think), which means
popping the screw covers off on the end of the dash. Not sure if you
can get access just by removing the glovebox (four screws, but a bit
tricky).
The fan is held in with three screws and there is a wiring plug to
remove, so at least once you have access it's an easy job.

It started with the type 44, and then the type 89. I assume they never
stopped after that, but I might be wrong (obviously, the aluminum V8 wasn't)

Yeah, sell him your car/parts/whatever. Have him send you the "check".
Then laugh at him when he keeps asking for the difference back via Western
Union.
Or just email him the following link:
www.419eater.com
Or email him a virus (although you'll have to be clever to do this because
his Yahoo mail will ID most of 'em, and block it, thus preventing you from
screwing up his computer)
Or use your spam blocker to block his incoming emails. . .
Plenty of options. . .
None of which will get him arrested, unfortunately.
Good luck.

I am truing to replace my ignition switch on the early build 83 URQ, and
not
having much luck.
I have the entire steering column on the bench and there is no access to
the
retaining screw. It is all TOTALLY encapsulated in cast aluminum.
I have done this on my later build car and don't remember this at all.
Any BTDT appreciated.

Dennis,
There is a spot that you have to drill to release the ignition switch.
Do you have Bentley? There is a pic with measurements on where to drill the
hole and how big it needs to be.
If you don't I can scan my Bentley and email you the page.
Let me know.
Cheers

Are you doing the mechanical or electrical part?

I posted this to the A4 list, but thought that I would see if there are
any opinions here.
I need to replace the OEM Pirelli P6s on my A4 fairly soon. I was
leaning towards the Bridgestone RE960AS's as opposed to the Bridgestone
G009's. In fact I had almost made up my mind until getting some prices
yesterday. I now have to decide between the Bridgestaone RE960AS's and
the Michelin Pilot Exaltos. Previous price quotes had put the Exaltos
significantly higher in price than the RE960's, but they are now
slightly less expensive. Actually, the Exaltos are $Cdn5 more per set of
4, but they come with a MIRB for a $50 Esso gas certificate. Tirerack
performance ratings for the Exaltos are slightly better than the RE960's.
OTOH, the Exaltos appear to have been around for quite a while. Are they
likely to be discontinued soon? Maybe why the price has dropped? I am
slightly concerned about possibly having the same replacement dilemma
an A4 lister just had when a blown tire couldn't be replaced because it
was no longer in production.
Any opinions out there on the pros/cons of the RE960AS's vs the Exaltos?
TIA

You only need to drill to remove the steering lock - the switch should be
retained by a small screw.
Anyway, for those who want to know where to drill:
