VSS Signal

I'm trying to determine the exact output signal (voltage/waveform, etc.)
and the PPM (pulses per mile/kilometer) of the VSS (vehicle speed
sensor) on a '01 A4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Andy

I don't know what the AT and AK mean, but I remember from long ago that
"X"
on the end indicates "exchange" (as in, there's a core charge excluded
from
listed price) and "V" is "verkaufen" or "outright purchase".

AFAIK, the "BX" versus "BV" at the end referred to running upgrades of
the part. That is, when a beefier version, or one with a better mounting
hole or extra washer or something came out, it got a new letter at the
end.

The 100Q's had different axle lengths so they could advertise in the
brochure that they were slightly tuned to accommodate the asymmetric
weight distribution of a driver and no passenger. I remember making a
joke about *my* asymmetric weight distribution :-)

I don't know why the 200 wouldn't have the same; maybe the weight of the
different engine handled that?

Not sure, but think that those letters could mean the position for
circlip that holds the CV.

I noticed that the guy I sold my 5000 tqa has listed it on Craig's List
for
$1800. (almost half of what he paid for it).

It looks like he's not really an Audi guy, and he's obviously dumped a
bunch
of $$$ into it, although it was pretty well sorted when he purchased it.

If someone is interested, here are a few things he's forgotten about or
never knew:

IA stage 1 chip + wastegate spring, pulls 1.9 bar
Springs from an A8, which stiffen the suspension but don't lower it.
Short shifter
35% tint on windows
Bra

In the last two years (car sold to him in summer of 2006)
New blower motor
New heater core
New brakes and rotors all around (why he needed brake work? I don't
know)
New tires (there were summer and dedicated snows on rims when I sold it
to
him)

In the last two years
New Turbo
Valve job
New engine mounts all around
New timing belt/water pump/etc (everything you'd do as part of this job)
New starter
New battery

When sold a year ago, all heated seats worked, all windows worked, door
handles, power locks all sorted out and functioning perfectly, diff
locks
functioned perfectly. Car pulled 1.9 bar, was very fast.

You can see his listing at
http://denver.craigslist.org/car/300490883.html

Ironically, this is the second time I've seen one of my old Audis on
Craig's
List in the last two months.

Anyhow, I have no connection to the current owner, but I thought I'd
pass
this along to any listers who are looking for a 5000 avant. I'm now an
S6
guy, so struggling with a whole new set of problems, like how to afford
the
Porsche big reds.

I may have asked this on the 20v List but if I did never got a
response...

Can anyone get me the part numbers for the Roll pans down the right and
left sides of the 1990 CQ... I was told they are parts and are
replaceable.. I need them before I can send off my car for body work

Thanks
