Mobil 1 oil weight

Yeah - same story here, except it wasn't a Briggs, it was the Chevy 350 in
my Suburban ('94 with 205K miles). I changed jobs and have been so busy I
totally forgot to check the oil, and naturally this something my wife's not
concerned with. Well, when the oil pressure started dropping to 0 and the
idiot light came on she did call me - I'll give her credit for that.

I told her if the pressure is 0 and the truck's running, don't worry about
it (must be the sender, the truck would have already blown if it was REALLY
0, right?)

I forgot about, and then about a month later I was driving it up a hill when
I thought for sure I was being tailgated by a diesel Rabbit (nope).

I checked the oil, no oil. Just enough to wet the bottom of the stick,
barely. It smelled real bad and the engine was scorching hot - no oil to
cool the engine.

I dumped 5 quarts of whatever I had laying around and took the thing out and
flogged it - I figured I'd throw a rod or a bearing and that would be the
end of it.

Anyway - oil pressure was fine, it ran quiet as ever. I suggested that she
stick real close to home for a while. A couple weeks later we just went
back to using it same was as ever. That was 2 months ago.
