Hey now, a Ferrari engine that hasn't blown up recently (excluding F1) is
pretty impressive, maybe he really is on to something ;-) lol.

I'm in agreeance here too. We have all had beater cars that we put whatever
that was handy in - 10w30, 15w40, 0w40, PAG oil, whatever thats in a bottle
and will make the level on the dipstick sit right - and they tend to last
just as long. How many people do the old tricks with ATF mixed in engine oil
to help clicky lifters, and how many have dumped in a shot of brake fluid to
swell leaky seals? I know I'm not ashamed to say I had done the ATF thing
(with decent results) every oil change for over 15,000 miles on a very very
roughly treated 5ktq. I had added ATF to my 5ktq almost since I bought it
(with 175k miles), then after a year or so found the money to replace the
lifters, and 5,000 miles after that dyno'd nearly 400hp at the wheels, then
a further 10,000 miles later rebuilt the engine. With over 200,000 miles,
and the most recent 30,000 or so having been very very very stressfull, the
bearings all looked absolutely brand new. All of the time I had the car was
on 20w50 dino oil, and with ATF floating arround in the oil for alot of it.
Ask Hans J. Stuck about Tihols last line there too. At Daytona a few (10?)
years ago the Champion Racing 911 he was driving rolled to a stop just 2
laps in. Yeap, they forgot to put oil in it, amazing that it made 2 laps.
I'll never forget watching on TV while he proceded to beat the roof in with
his helmet!
