You might consider the A6 4.2 V8 as well.  The V8 option was a $10,000
upgrade new, but used prices aren't reflecting that at all.  Then
compare insurance rates A6 V8 vs.. A8, and I'll bet that the aluminum
bodied A8 rate will be significantly more due to the exorbitant repair
rate for aluminum body panels.
