So Long and Thanks for all the Fish

Well, I've now been officially Audi-less for almost a week, and the
withdrawal symptoms are easing a bit.

As a result, I'm going to be signing off the list. It's been quite a
ride, in both the literal and figurative sense of the word. Although
I've never been quite so far into the older models as some here, my
first Q was my venerable '89 100Q. Last I heard, it was over 300K and
still running strong (Stott Hare, are you out there?) 5 Audis later, I
ended with my '00 A6Q, the unusual 5-speed one I worked so long to get
from Audi.

Alas, I think Audi should have been ashamed to have their name on the
car, and should have been appalled at the way I was treated by my
dealer, and by Audi of America. It made it to 120K, but not without a
lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and quite a few repair $$$$.

I will likely see some of you tomorrow up at the NAAC Skills Clinic at
NHIS. Looking forward to it, even if my all wheel drive is from a
different maker!
