Alex-
You're not going to find too many type 44 parts at the local Audi dealer.
I've ordered most of my dealer-only parts either through Clair Parts or VM
Autohaus. Surprisingly enough, VM was cheaper on a lot of stuff back when
the Canadian dollar was much weaker, even after customs duties. Now I don't
think that would work. Sunset Motors in Oregon are also very reasonable. I
don't know how the new owner of Crescent City Motors has stuff priced- after
the hurricane, I don't even know what kind of business they're doing at all.
Oil filters and the like are better ordered from a foreign parts reseller-
thepartsbin.com, adirondack, zzmotors, tim leclair's FAP99 ebay business,
etc.
They should have the UrS oil filter in stock- it's been superceded and
pretty much all Audis run the same oil filter now- ask for the one for the
A4 1.8T. It's not the same as the big black oil filter on the 5ktq that has
the "Turbo" label, but I've run the UrS filter on my old 200q20v w/o any oil
pressure issues or other issues.
