Steel Braided Brake Lines

this complaint comes up every time someone mentions ss lines. but how many
cars have you known suffer brake line failures? me neither... i've had them
on 5 or 6 cars and every motorcycle i've owned. no failures yet. if they
were blowing up left and right then all the companies that sell them would
be up to their eye teeth in lawsuits. and they wouldn't come as oem
equipment on so many motorcycles.

there are lines available that have a covering [stoptech] to prevent dirt
from migrating thru the braid. which is good cheap insurance for that sort
of theoretical failure. that said it's worth checking them regularly just
incase this happens:
