87 5kcst electrical/climate control help needed !!!!!!!!!!

I've encountered the REAL "dash lites from hell" here.  They work when 
they feel like it, don't when they don't.  The CC control head and other 
lower console lights work, just not the insturment or clock/onboard 
computer display in the OBC unit.  Fixed the bulbs and their elderly 
contacts, checked (replaced) the onboard computer wherein lies the 
dimmer switch, fixed the tail light harness,  and a host of other 
things.  Next thing to check is the "instrument lite booster".  Anyone 
know where this is, and what it looks like?  Part number?  I have a 
donor car to work from, but I don't know what I'm looking for. 

Once that's done, I have to figure out why the heater works here in the 
shop, but not while driving.  Not much use there ..........  Pointers 
would be appreciated! 

Oh, I have only about 3 more hours with this car today, so answers, 
tips, pointers, or evil laughs done in a timely manner would be 
sincerely appreciated!  It's 1:45 Pacific as I post this
