80q cruise control -- update

Gentlemen,
 
Thanks for your recent replies regarding the cruise control on my 88  80q.
 
I did the basics before my previous post -- new vac lines, tested pedal  
switches, etc. to no avail since it appreared that the pump was not up to the  job.
 
saw a tip on huw's site about running water through the suction line to  
clear out gunk that had accumulated over the years.  Reattached the  vac hose and 
the cruise started working again.  Don't know how long this  will last, but 
I'll take what I can get before getting a new pump.
