Carfax..cell phones/accidents

I've really had it with cell phone using drivers. I've personally
dodged accidents close to a dozen times attributable to oblivious
drivers on cell phones. One of my former student was literally run off
the road by a guy in a Continental and ended up rolling her Civic Si
multiple times to within an arms' reach of a gas pump. The guy drove
on. Yesterday in Houston, where I live now, a 38 year old motorcycle
cop was killed by a guy in an SUV, on the phone, who veered onto the
shoulder where he was writing a ticket, taking our first his motorcycle,
then smacking the back of the stopped car and finally collecting the cop
to complete the disaster. Personal link...the same cop had ticketed me
a couple of years ago and he was the kind of cop you actually are happy
to deal with when you know you're in the wrong. A very nice,
professional guy with a family. They're 'considering' filing
unintentional manslaughter charges.

Personal rant off.
