80q engine quandry

Hey guys,

I drove my 88 80q about 60 miles today. Washed it in a car wash and hit the
top of the engine are up with the hose to clean off some grease / dirt. I
do this whenever I clean the car (every 6 months or so) and there was no
problem restarting. I drove another 15 miles with absolutely no issues. In
fact, I was thinking to my self that my 275k+ car was running pretty darn well...

Stopped by Publix supermarket for a few things on the way home, and when I
restarted my car, it searched for idle, revving between 1000 and 1100 rpm.
hitting the gas would briefly blip the revs (up to say, 2200 or 2500) then it
would fall immediately down to the 1000 to 1100 rpm mark. unplugged the ISV
with no change. took off the distributor cap -- no water, and no difference
when I put it back on.

Fuel pump working fine, and no difference when terminals jumpered.

No visible vac leaks, and engine stalled when I opened the oil cap.

Any ideas as to what I need to check?

Thanks,

Tom
