wheel fit on '97 A6

I know that Bolero wheels (17x8", ET40) with 235/45-17 will fit with less
than 2 mm clearance to the tie rod "arm", a bit too close for me. If a
17x7.5 ET45 will fit at all without rubbing, it will be extremely tight. I
would have used a 10 mm spacer to make the wheels ET35 if I was you. The
UrS4/S6 has got a wider track in front due to different wheel bearing
housings, so they don't have this problem, only the 100/A6 does. Even the
100/A6 fenders are big enough to accommodate a 235/45-17 tire on an ET35
wheel.

A quick question...can anyone confirm that 17x7.5" wheels, with a 45 offset,
and 235/45 17 tires fit on a '97 A6 without rubbing?
