Those are amplified antennas. (antennae)Check the front antenna. The rear is
for AM.

Subject: antennas

The radio in my '91 200 Avant gets poor reception -- I can't pick up
an FM station from 15 miles away. I unscrewed the mast part of the
antenna to load some plywood on the roof -- and the reception didn't
change at all! I haven't yet checked to see a) if the antenna is
connected at the radio, and b) if the antenna has 12V to power the
amp.

The PO recommended a Fuba amplified antenna to replace the existing
one. Are there other options? Is an unamplified antenna an acceptible
alternative?
