Sounds like a trace on the IC circuit board has cracked. If you're good with a well regulated
soldering pencil (like an electronics grade Weller) you can probably jump the crack. Of course
you'll have to find the crack in the trace.

My tachometer functions in the first few minutes after starting car, then needle goes to 0 RPMs, tapping on front of tachometer may bring needle to show real RPMs, but mostly remains at 0 RPMs. What is this problem? Speedometer, odometer and all other lights and warnings function.
