Windshield Wiper Problem

I have a 2002 A4 1.8T with a windshield wiper problem I have never come accross.
The wipers stay on and will not shut off.  When I run a diag. I get this dtc that
I can not find in the service manual.

This is  the fault I get.

01753 - Windshield Wiper Motor (V) Stage 1

Any help would be most appreciated.
