No, my car has shorter gearing than your Z06, Mark- I get about 26 mpg at
about 75 mph. That's with the A/C on- I averaged that from St. Louis to
Philly.

My buddy's "regular" C5 can do 30 mpg as it's geared taller and has a less
aggressive cam than your Z06.

My Miata has the smallest carbon footprint of any cars I own. Gets about 25
mpg around town with me thrashing it and on high rolling resistance RE-01R
tires.
