Re. I broke the nipple on the radiator that goes to the overflow

Go to a bike shop, get a bicycle tire air valve (the skinny kind), remove
the valve.  Drill out the rad nipple hole one bit size smaller than the
bicycle valve, screw it into the radiator with some good TWO stage epoxy
(read the labels to find the right one, your local Home Depot or FLAPS
should have a good selection) and you should be all set.  The valve body
will be your new all metal nipple.  Did this on the ole 5KS and the
repair lasted longer than the radiator did.
